What a busy week! Class 5 have enjoyed a range of activities related to improving their well-being including fencing, yoga, a debate about the difficulties of life online, making 'jars of calm' and making and eating healthy halloumi kebabs and tomato, bean and pasta soup.
When gardening club first began we had terrible weather and it seemed to rain almost every Wednesday but we carried on through rain and frost and have some amazing things growing. We have onions, radishes, courgettes potatoes, spinach to name but a few. Thank you to families who have kindly donated things to keep us busy. We have lovely flowers in the planters, tomatoes, herbs, strawberries and many more things. We have enjoyed looking at nature too, seeing many spiders and insects attracted to the plants and flowers. It's all been very exciting after a lot of weeding and those weeds just keep on growing!
It has been a very busy week for us so far. On Monday Class 2 wrote invitations to all the parents of children in Classes R, 1 and 2 and made decorations for our picnic. On Tuesday Class R made smoothie ice pops and on Wednesday Classes 1 and 2 made cous cous, fruit salad and flapjack for our picnic. It was a very busy morning making sure we made enough for everyone. The sun came out and we had a wonderful picnic. It was nice to see so many parents. Thank you for joining us. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
We had a fantastic day at the zoo meeting all the animals and we even stroked a corn snake called Cornelius. The weather was fantastic and we learnt lots. The seal lions were definitely a favourite!
The children enjoyed an afternoon of games which included feeding the Corgi and making crowns. Thank you to PAWS for organising it and volunteers who led the different games and activities across the school.
As part of our work in Science we have been looking at life cycles so have watched caterpillars grow and change into butterflies. They started to emerge from their chrysalides on Monday and we released them from their butterfly garden today. The butterflies liked resting on children's hands and didn't fly away. Can you see them on the tree?
