PAWS kindly arranged a super Easter egg hunt for the children of Waddesdon Village Primary School. They all had a great time searching for eggs! The Easter Bunny (Mrs Jones) surprised the KS2 children!

Fly to the Line

Class 5 have been applying the knowledge they gained from RAF Halton and their 'forces' lessons along with using impressive DT skills to design and create gliders. Following a class gliding competition today , which was watched by Class R, The Big Blue was announced as the winner! The design team of 4 girls from class 5 will compete at the regional finals in June.

Class 2 Roald Dahl Day

After learning about tempering chocolate at Cadbury World yesterday we had a go at making our own. We tasted 99% Chocolate (Yuck!) and normal chocolate (yum!). We looked at all the different things in Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory and recreated our own edible versions: lickable wallpaper, wafer cups, mushrooms made out of cakes and special lemonade. We also invented our own chocolate bar just like Roald Dahl wished he could do when he was younger.

Class 5 enjoyed plenty of activities to support their geography work at Forest School. They also had a look at the trees they planted last year.

RAF Halton

Class 5 and Class 6 have had a brilliant day at RAF Halton. During this STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) event they made aerodynamic cars and gliders, flew flight simulators, learnt about the forces linked to flight and explored life-sized gliders and aircrafts. A fun-packed day!

A visit from Dr Jones

Dr Jones visited Waddesdon Village Primary School to talk to the children about his work as a clinical psychologist. He explained what our spinal cord is and what it does as well his work with people with spinal injuries. He is running the London Marathon this year and is fundraising for The Back Up Trust, a charity that he works closely with.

We are supporting him to raise money for this charity by holding a mufti day (as well as a cake sale in the summer term).
