  • Unexpected School Closure

Sun 31 Dec 2017 Miss Forchione and Mrs Magowan

    Dear Parents/Carers

Due to an unforeseen circumstance with our oil-fuelled heating system, we have had contractors in school over the Christmas period.

We have been advised by Bucks County Council that it is not safe for our children to enter our building. This means that we have no choice but to close the school to all children and staff on Thursday 4th January and Friday 5th January.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this disruption to the start of the new school term.

Teachers will be posting work for the children to complete on the Class Pages of the school website.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

    Miss Forchione and Mrs Magowan.

  • SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO BLACK ICE ON SCHOOL LANE AND THE SCHOOL SITE - TUESDAY 12TH DECEMBER 2017

Tue 12 Dec 2017 Miss Forchione and Mrs Magowan

I very much regret to inform you that the Chair of Governors and I have decided that the school will be closed again today, Tuesday 12th December. This is solely due to the extremely hazardous driving conditions on the access road to school. With many of the children and staff needing to travel along small rural roads the safety needs for all must be taken into consideration. We have inspected School Lane - it is very dangerous as is the school car park and playgrounds. Black ice is causing us serious concern.

Unfortunately, this does have an impact on the pantomime trip scheduled for Year 1 and 2 today. We will reschedule if possible, if not parents will be reimbursed. I understand that this is far from ideal however, the safety of all children and staff is my priority.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and disruption that I know this will cause. The weather forecast for Tuesday late evening onwards of warmer conditions and rain makes me very confident that we will be open on Wednesday. Once again, my apologies.

    Laura Forchione, Headteacher.

  • Delayed start time **9.30am** - Tuesday 12th December 2017

Mon 11 Dec 2017 Miss Forchione

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We will be open tomorrow (Tuesday 12th December) with a delayed start time. School will be open from 9.30am onwards - please do not arrive before this timeRegistration will stay open until 10am. This will enable extra time for parents and children to get safely to school. Footpaths on the school site will be cleared and salted but please be extra careful on the pavements down School Lane as they may be icy from the drop in temperature predicted tonight. Please take extra care and do not rush.

On arrival at school, children will need to follow the cleared pathway across the KS1 playground and enter through the hall doors. Here they will be met by a member of staff who will guide them to their classroom.

Due to the drop in temperature overnight, the situation will be reviewed early tomorrow morning. Please check the school website before setting off for any updates.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Sun 10 Dec 2017 Miss Forchione

Waddesdon Village Primary School will be closed on Monday 11th December due to the recent snowfall and current weather conditions. The decision has been taken based on advice we have been given on the state of the roads, with the safety of our children and staff being the most important priority.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We hope to re-open on Tuesday 12th December.

Teachers will post work on the class pages of the school website.

Many thanks in advance for your help, cooperation and understanding in this matter.

  • The Christmas Carol Concert

Fri 08 Dec 2017 Miss Forchione

Our Christmas Carol Concert took place on Thursday 7th December at St Michaels and All Angels Church. The event went very well, with Year 1 creating a wonderful nativity scene, Year 6 narrating the story and superb singing from all children.

The church was filled with parents and carers - it was a lovely afternoon.
