Music Tuition

Buckinghamshire Learning Trust Music

Instrumental Lessons

The Buckinghamshire Learning Trust offer tuition on all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, drums and voice. These lessons are usually taught in school, but can be available at the nearest Music Centre if that suits your needs better.

The Buckinghamshire Learning Trust provide a minimum of 33 lessons per academic year, spread across the 3 terms but not always equally as the Spring term is always shorter that the others. Lessons are usually individual but for beginners and younger students they can often be in small groups of 2-4 (depending on availability and instrument) as well.

For details on how to apply for lessons please see the Buckinghamshire Learning Trust Music application forms below or alternative apply online with them direct at:  http://www.bucksmusic.org/instrumental-tuition where you can click on the link to apply.

Playaway Music

Piano and Ukulele Lessons

David Mitchener is a school music specialist and runs ‘Playaway Music’, offering individual piano tuition to children.

David offers ½ hour piano lessons to KS2 children during the school day every Thursday. Pupils will need to come out of lessons for this, however times will be ‘rotated’ so that children do not miss the same lesson every week. The teaching timetable will be organised in close liaison with class teachers to ensure this is done efficiently. Lessons cost £18 for ½ an hour per week, charged on a half-termly basis.

Pupils will need a piano at home to practise on and must be willing to practise regularly. David is very happy to give advice on buying a suitable instrument if needs be.

He also offers a Ukulele Club to children in Years 2, 3 and 4 from 3.20 - 4pm every Thursday. The cost will be £6 per session, payable in advance each half-term. Children will need to bring their own ukulele for this - easily purchased online or from Aylesbury Music in the town centre.

If you would like your child to register for piano lessons or join Ukulele Club, please email David at enquiries@playawaymusic.com with your name, child’s name and class, and your email address.

Please note that he has limited spaces for both piano and ukulele; in the event that demand is very high it may be that your child will be put on a waiting list.
