BBC Ten Pieces Music Assemblies
This year, as a whole school, we are watching the BBC 'Ten Pieces' DVDs in our assemblies. Ten Pieces Primary aims to open up the world of classical music to children and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to ten pieces of music through composition, dance or art. So far this year, class six have created their own compositions based on the minimalist music of John Adam's 'Short Ride in a Fast Machine'; class four have produced art based on 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' from Grieg's Peer Gynt; and class five have complemented their Big Writing with some wonderful black and white chalk work based on 'Storm' from Peter Grimes, by Benjamin Britten.
