If you are interested in your child becoming part of our Waddesdon Village Primary School learning community please contact us directly and we will be happy to arrange a visit for you.
There are two normal points of admission into Waddesdon Village Primary School. The first is into Reception Class; children normally enter the Reception Class in September of the school year in which they turn five. Our admission number for children into Reception Class is currently 30. The second normal point of admission into our School is into Year 3 where the class sizes are set at 32. Children typically enter Waddesdon into Year 3 in September of the school year in which they turn eight. Waddesdon’s admission number is increased by 2 for entry into Year 3. As a Community School, all admissions are regulated by the Coordinated Admission Scheme for Primary Schools in Buckinghamshire.
An application for your child to join our school can be made at any time during the school year. Please contact the school office where we will be able to advise on how to navigate the process. These applications will be processed through the “County In-Year Admissions Scheme”. Applications for admission at any time may be made by parents/carers on-line via webpage www.buckscc.gov.uk/admissions. Alternatively paper application forms are available from the County Admissions Team via their contact form at www.buckscc.gov.uk/contactadmissions.
All children entering our Reception Class are most welcome to start full-time in September; however as partners in education with parents, we are happy to discuss individual needs and adopt a flexible approach.
The Admissions Criteria as set down in the County Booklet is adhered to in the case of reviews. The Headteacher and representatives from the Local Authority meet to discuss cases which do go to review. This would normally happen when numbers over 30 occur in KS1.
Area Normally Served
The school’s catchment area consists of the parishes of Waddesdon, Fleet Marston and Upper Winchendon. However, we are always pleased to welcome children from outside these designated areas providing places are available.
In general children transfer to selective schools in Aylesbury or a variety of Upper Schools; predominantly Waddesdon C of E Upper School (if fulfil admission criteria as it is an over-subscribed school). There are developing links with Waddesdon C of E School and children in Year 6 have the opportunity of working at the school during the Summer Term.
Parents who require transport for their children should contact the Transport Officer at County Hall, Aylesbury. Tel: 01296-395000.
We look forward to meeting you and your child.
