Waddesdon Assessment and School Performance Information

School Performance 2021-2022

We are extremely proud of our pupils resilience, perseverance and determination in their learning since the disruption caused by COVID-19. This year, for the first time in 3 years, pupils in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 took part in national statutory assessments.

The government has decided that due to this being the first year back to national assessments, they will not be releasing any schools performance tables, however we wanted to share our results with our community to celebrate how amazing our pupils have done.

EYFS (Reception Class)

Reception children are assessed against the early learning goals in the 3 prime areas (PSED, Communication and Language and Physical Development) as well as the specific areas (Literacy and Numeracy). If children achieve the expected level in all of these areas, they achieve a ‘good level of development (GLD)’.

77% of Reception pupils achieved GLD at Waddesdon (National 2019 pre-COVID: 72%)

Internal Assessment

At Waddesdon Village Primary School we strive to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential and are supported and nurtured along their pathway to successful learning.

Throughout the academic year, teachers use a mixture of formative and summative assessment to assess pupils and identify any gaps in learning which are then addressed either in class or through an extra intervention. Since the COVID-19 pandemic extra support has been put in place to help pupils catch-up. For further information on this please see 'Catch-Up Premium' on the website.

Children are assessed against age related expectations for the time of the year and progress is tracked from the previous academic year and prior key stage.

Attainment:

GDS - Greater depth standard

EXS - Expected standard

WT - Working towards standard

- Below standard

Progress:

BTE - Better than expected progress

EXP - Expected Progress

- Below expected progress

Assessment and progress information will be shared with parents through parents evenings and end of year reporting.
