HELLO FROM THE ECO BUDDIES!

The Eco Buddies would like to say 'Be eco friendly and help us to save the planet'.

REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE is a start.

Reducing means using less of what you have and not buying what you don't need. Use less by: turning off unused lights, putting on a sweatshirt when cold and closing the blinds when hot, turning the water off while brushing your teeth, taking short showers and collecting rainwater in buckets for the garden.

Use a lunchbox with reusable plastic boxes, turn plastic shopping bags into bin liners, and pass unwanted clothes, books and toys on to someone else.

Reusing an item in a new way, or breaking down material to make it into something new, is recycling. Schools have them on their property. Steel, glass, aluminum, paper, plastic and cardboard can be recycled.
Remember to use our recycling bins in school for PAPER, PLASTIC AND METAL.

Here are 4 things that you came up with at the Eco Buddies Assembly. We would like you to try and do some of these things to help save the planet:
1. Walk to school or car share.
2. Turn of the water whilst you are brushing your teeth.
3. Turn off the lights when they are not in use.
4. Recycle!

Below are some recipes and photos from our Healthy Cooking Club. Children from KS2 cook dishes using our freshly grown produce grown by the Gardening Club.

BUG MONTH
Its March and that means its Bug Month. Our school has celebrated this event by spending a whole week learning all about the insects in our school ground. Every class has taken part in activities to help celebrate bugs.

Children have been bug hunting around the school grounds, writing about insects, making junk bug models and creating some interesting fact files full of information.

We hope you enjoy looking at some of the photos that were taken of us bug hunting and working during Bug Month.

ECO Inspection

On Thursday 28th April 2011 an Eco inspector visited Waddesdon Village Primary School to assess whether we are doing enough to become an Eco School. He was very impressed with all that we do as a school and awarded us Eco Schools status. Well done to everyone! Keep being eco friendly.
